WHO WE ARE

Alternative Music & Events Company was founded in 2004 out of a love for underground culture and genre-defiant music.

Rooted in Gloucestershire’s creative scene, we champion artists who move between styles — jazz, soul, deep house, broken beat, funk, experimental electronics with feeling and originality. Our growing community includes both local talent and cutting-edge acts from further afield.

What We Do

Our work is all about creating spaces where sound travels freely — across genre, across stage setups, and across people.

Live Events:

We produce intimate gigs and live sessions focusing on jazz-forward, improvisational acts and progressive fusion projects.

Club Sessions:

From deep house to soulful techno, we book DJs who know how to read a room and lift it.

collaboration & curation:

projects like ngoma (live dj/musician fusions) and sonar sessions (live electronic) performances reflect our belief in creating something new across roles, genres, and generations.

based in stroud, gloucestershire, we work across a range of grassroots venues and creative spaces in the south west from cult basements in bristol to warm listening rooms right here in town.
